Not so easy to find time to paint…

I’ve been having the most amazingly different summer.  While it is cutting into studio time, I have gained so much in love and kindness time by having my grandson Billy living with me this summer.

What a joy this child has been.  Very different in interests and skills (he’s a computer geek/gamer) at even nine years old, he has made me stretch my interests and expanded my intelligence with the gaming world.

Most importantly though, I have learned a lot about this small person – he is one of the kindest and most gentle human beings I have yet to meet.  I have not heard him say one derogatory word about another person this whole experience.  He is empowering of everyone and super gentle and kind with our dog Bailey, who adores him and misses him horribly when he is not available.  He is a typical child in so many ways, but a very deep thinker and considerate human being.  We have had some amazingly deep, meaningful discussions.  He cares deeply about so many people, experiences, and situations.

He is not just someone I would consider only family but someone I want as a very close personal friend forever.   Cheering on my dear grandson and his life to come.

Worth the time not spent in the studio!!!

About Kat Bryan Wallace

I am a two-dimensional artist and writer working with memories interpreted in paintings, drawings, photographs and my writing. Memory is powerful but not perfect… it changed like a raw photographic image will never return to its original image once changed into a jpeg and our memories, as we remember them, shape us into who we become. Life recycles as we remember the past and evolve. My art is about interpreting life, memories and knowledge, what makes life possible, and how this all will affect the future.
