Saturdays are magic if you work a five day week, Monday through Friday. Saturdays are the golden day of the week. You can plan, or not plan, you can be busy, or not busy, you can sleep in or get up at the crack of dawn… It’s just the most wonderful day of the week to do something or to do nothing.
Every Saturday I try to sleep in – usually without success. My eyes pop open like clockwork at about 4:50 AM. Yes… 4:50 AM appears to be my time to be awake. Once in a while I can cheat awake and doze off for a bit longer but it appears my body is ready to be up no later than 5:00 AM. The good thing is I never have to set an alarm. Smiling…
This Saturday we had plans. First of all Melissa, was daughter’s sister was in town, and we knew sometime today we were going to try to see her. Second, we have been questioning the political climate in Becker and set an appointment to meet with the second Mayor Candidate, at 8:00 AM… Third, this was the day set to take our trailer to storage (they give you a weekend or day in the Fall to be there to store your trailer when you pick it up in the Spring- a day almost impossible to change). And finally, we had a butt-load of yard work to do, including moving one of our above ground gardens to the back of our lot.
All is good… had the meeting and turned out well, got all our questions answered, and actually feel better about this candidate and her goals. Got the trailer loaded with all the stuff we don’t need until Spring (quite the time consuming task) and Dean got the trailer to storage. Dean moved the frame of the above ground garden to its new home and we started to shovel and move the dirt into the other gardens. That is not a one day task… stopped when my back started to hurt.

If you study the above picture you can see the big mound of dirt in the background. Smiling.
So on to the yard work. Lawn mowed, shed rearranged for the winter, more dirt shoveled. Decided to take a break and cut some field greens and herbs and pick a few chili peppers to take to Thia and Tobit when we go later today which we have decided will be late afternoon since should be done with it all by then and have time for a shower (well needed after all the physical work)!

So happy this is Saturday!
