Hi Everyone,
So it’s March here in Minnesota after a very oddly weathered winter. We didn’t have much snow and the temperatures seemed to be way above normal most of the time with warmer weather and supremely dry weather conditions. Although Dean and I rarely venture out after dark from our north of the Twin Cities home, the one night we did on Valentine’s Day to go to the 1029 Club in North East Minneapolis for dinner, of course there was an excessive amount of snow and bad weather. Nevertheless a lovely evening and definitely exciting driving through all the snow.
With the odd weather, the winter seemed longer than ever. I moved my studio back upstairs where the light is always amazing and buckled down to do a lot of writing and drawing. I stepped back from painting as with oils it is always difficult with the fumes in the winter even with fans.
I completed a drawing I’ve been working on it seems forever as I would pick it up and draw when I just needed to chill out. Turns out it was one I really enjoyed and liked by the time it was finished. Now I’m attempting to narrow down my next creative endeavor. That means checking the canvas supply (sizes and amounts) and attempting to narrow down what I want to draw or paint. I’m thinking I should do one of each of our furry children, Bear and Lily, before I go back to human portraits and .

I’ve had a bit of a writers block with my third book in my preteen/teenage series of Hidden Lifeforms. Made it to chapter 17 before I realized I didn’t know where I wanted to go with it from there. Drawing helps settle the mind and sort it all out so will start a portrait and let my mind wander until the block is in my rear view mirror.
Tomorrow is the first day of Spring and I am ready for warmer weather that stays! So until next month… stay safe and happy!
